ORBERRY FEMALE CULTIVAR
Clara sea buckthorn variety
The largest fruit and the highest yield in the Orberry range. Clara produces 23–25 t/ha in mature orchards, with cylindrical berries of 9–12 mm and 0.78 g, bright yellow with orange tones, and an excellent commercial appearance. It is also the earliest cultivar of the range and the reference point for the harvest calendar.

COMMERCIAL CHARACTERISTICS
A variety for professional orchards.
FRUIT & PROCESSING
Purpose-led genetics.
Clara is suited to the fresh market, frozen fruit and juice, where fruit size, appearance and juice yield count. Its strengths are the largest berry in the portfolio (0.78 g, 9–12 mm), the highest proportion of pulp and juice (80%) and a very faint pubescence. Sugar 11.3 °Brix; ascorbic acid 340 mg per 100 g of juice; carotenoids 13.9 mg; oil 4.8%.
ORCHARD PROFILE
Grow with intent.
Medium-to-high vigour, semi-erect habit with a wide crown; annual growth of 160–180 cm and a high density of fruiting branches. Economic yields from year 3; yield potential of 23–25 t/ha in mature irrigated orchards at 3.5 × 1.25 m — the highest in the range. Relatively resistant to fusarium wilt.
HARVEST
A distinct harvest position.
Semi-early — the first Orberry cultivar to ripen and the reference for the others. Harvest window of 10–12 days, so harvest capacity must be planned accordingly.
WATCH-OUTS
Plan for the site.
Wind-sensitive in the first years, with a risk of crown splitting — stake young plants and avoid exposure to dominant winds. Strong suckering. Short harvest window.
Juice composition: irrigated culture in Arad, five-year averages; oil is measured in fresh fruit. Yield potential: irrigated mature orchard at 3.5 × 1.25 m; results depend on site, season and management.
POLLINATION
Designed with Andros in mind.
Sea buckthorn is wind-pollinated. Andros is integrated according to planting geometry, pollination needs and field layout; its final number and placement are planned for your orchard.
POLLINATION IN THE ORCHARD
The orchard layout determines the number and placement of Andros plants.
