Sea buckthorn varieties for professional orchards
Compare certified sea buckthorn seedlings for commercial orchards: female Mara, Clara, Cora and Dora, with Andros male pollinator.

THE COLLECTION
Mara · Clara · Cora · Dora · Andros
Each cultivar has a distinct agronomic and processing profile, helping growers select genetics according to orchard strategy, relative harvest window and intended fruit use.
CHOOSE BY PROCESSING OBJECTIVE
Match genetics to your intended use.
Each Orberry cultivar contributes a different fruit or pollination role to the commercial orchard.
Mara
sweetest and richest in oil; exotic taste and aroma — juice, frozen fruit, oil
Explore MaraClara
largest fruit, highest yield, best commercial appearance — fresh market, juice
Explore ClaraCora
high yield, hardiness, very good for processing, high carotenoids
Explore CoraDora
record vitamin C and carotenoids — nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, cosmetics
Explore DoraAndros
abundant fertile pollen, compatible with all female cultivars
Explore AndrosJuice composition: irrigated culture in Arad, five-year averages; oil is measured in fresh fruit. Yield potential: irrigated mature orchard at 3.5 × 1.25 m; results depend on site, season and management.
VARIETY SELECTION
Not sure which variety is right for your orchard?
You do not need to know the answer before you start.
Tell us where you plan to grow, the size of your orchard and your commercial plans. Orberry can help identify the cultivar — or cultivar combination — that best fits your project.
ONE ORCHARD SYSTEM
Four female varieties. One male pollinator.
Andros is the dedicated male cultivar for the Orberry female portfolio. Andros is integrated according to planting geometry, pollination needs and field layout. Orberry confirms its final number and placement during project planning.

GROWING SEA BUCKTHORN
Build the right orchard conditions.
Plan for well-drained soil, light, irrigation and wind-pollination as part of your orchard configuration.
SOIL
Well-drained, aerated soil is preferred. A general pH range around 6.0–7.5 is suitable for commercial cultivation.
LIGHT
Full sun is important for commercial performance.
WATER
Avoid waterlogging. Irrigation planning supports reliable establishment, particularly in lower-rainfall conditions.
POLLINATION
Sea buckthorn is dioecious and wind-pollinated. Andros is the male cultivar in the Orberry portfolio.
FRUITING
The Orberry female cultivars can start fruit production around year three, depending on planting material, site and management.
PLANTING SPACING
A 3.50 × 1.25 m layout gives approximately 2,200–2,300 planting positions per hectare. Final quantities depend on your orchard configuration.
FRUIT & PROCESSING
A distinct strength for every cultivar.
Choose the fruit profile that fits your intended processing route and commercial orchard plan.

From cultivar choice to commercial supply.
Orberry cultivars are propagated from the certified mother plantation of the varieties and supplied with phytosanitary passport documentation. Commercial orders start from 500 plants.
